The links I have listed here are what I consider to be the most relevant for the person serious about learning about Ernie Kovacs, with a couple of extras thrown in for fun. There are certainly many more Ernie Kovacs links on the web than are listed here.

UPDATE, FEBRUARY 29 2008:   I've acquired the domain erniekovacs.org, which had been one of the URL’s for a website run by the Kovacs estate along with edieadams.org and it now points to this site. It had been allowed to expire and was hijacked by one of those search engine pages. I was very happy to find out it was available and even happier to have it point to a site that honors Ernie’s work. So, if you ever forget to type erniekovacs.net and type .org instead, you will be brought to our main page! Two for the price of one my fellow Kovacsians! (Unfortunately edieadams.org still points to a search engine portal).

UPDATE, DECEMBER 13 2006:   Sculptor Michael Keropian let me know about the website for the late Al Wein, who was the art director for many of the Kovacs shows. Michael worked for Al and is still involved with his art work. Please visit both sites; the art and sculpture you will see is fantastic! (Links can also be found in the main list)

UPDATE, DECEMBER 12 2006:   At the bottom of the links list, you will see a link to a page of links to articles about Ernie from the 1950s and 1960s. That’s a lotta links!

UPDATE, APRIL 4TH 2006:   It is with great regret that I am removing the links to www.edieadams.org and www.erniekovacs.org. Both these addresses led to a single site run by Edie and her assistant, where you could purchase merchandise, join a fan club and read some Ernie and Edie anecdotes. I was quite happy to announce the arrival of this site back on July 25th 0f 2004 and was very proud when they linked me and thanked me for my work on my own Ernie site.

Back on March 6, 2006 I posted an update indicating that I had noticed the site was down and that fans had been emailing me asking why. At that time I did not know the status and attempted, through contacts, to find out. Unfortunately we were unable to come up with an answer.

Then, today, I went and entered both addresses into the browser and both sites have been taken over by different "Search Engine Portals". Of course this saddens me and since I don’t want anyone visiting this site to link to this nonsense, I have to take the links off the page.

Edie, if you get to read this at any point I want you to know that we thank you for putting up the site, for all the entertaiment throughout the years, and here's hoping that you have another site up again soon.

One more thing kids. Since I don’t want this update to be a total negative I’ve added links to Ernie titles on overstock.com (they have the "Best Of" DVD for a really great price) and links to both Ernie and Edie in the Internet Movie Database(imdb.com) as well as a link to the entry for Edie at wikipedia.org.    Al Quagliata, APRIL 4TH 2006

UPDATE, MAY 12 2005:   A link has been added to the website of writer ⁄ author David Walley who wrote"Nothing In Moderation: A Biography Of Ernie Kovacs". This book also goes under the title of "The Ernie Kovacs Phile"  It’s a great book and there's a link to it on amazon.com to the right.

UPDATE, AUGUST 13TH 2004:   A link has been added to an article having to do with Sean Sanczel's play "The Importance Of Being Ernie". It is from the Tampa, Florida Ezine, "The Weekly Planet"  and is about how the play was conceived.

As an actor ⁄ writer ⁄ Ernie Fan, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed Sean Sanczel’s play entitled "The Importance Of Being Ernie." Someone had written me an email asking a question about Ernie's fight to get his kids back, and I ran a search on Kippie Kovacs. Sean’s play came up, and I downloaded it in PDF and read it.

It’s the first time I've ever read an Ernie related play (and I’ve heard about or seen most of them) where I actually thought the writer really nailed the essence of the man without being long and boring. It had a production in Florida during 2003, and let’s please get it up here to New York so I can audition for it!

Sean played himself and Ernie in the play. It features multi – media elements as well as the standard stage theatrics, all done neatly and logically, and most importantly in a way that will help to familiarize the uninitiated with Ernie’s particular form of genius while causing the afcianado to marvel at it’s accuracy.

If you click the link on the menu to the right you will see photos (he bears a striking resemblance) and you can also download the script in PDF format. Read it. It’s great. This will be much better than me giving you a long – winded description.

The main link to all Ernie Kovacs items on Amazon.com will bring you to a page that lists every Ernie Kovacs related item they have available. You will then notice that I have listed more specific product links on Amazon.com, for the items that I think are true necessities for the Ernie Kovacs collector. The Diana Rico book Kovacsland and the Best Of Ernie Kovacs, either on DVD or VHS, I think are particularly important. (The DVD set is preferable as it has "extras" that the VHS set does not have, specifically clips from the Ernie Kovacs game show "Take A Good Look"). When buying these videos please realize that many times they come from old video masters or kinescopes, and are a bit scratchy looking whether on VHS or DVD. This is not the fault of Whitestar Video, who puts this set out, but rather the fact that the source material is ancient. As I've mentioned before, I make no profit from the sale of these Ernie Kovacs items. I simply chose Amazon.com because it is the easiest and fastest way to get Ernie Kovacs materials. Many people have it set up so that if you buy from Amazon.com through their site they get a kick back. There is nothing wrong with this; I choose not to do so to avoid conflicts of interest.
